In 2010, the Northside congregation was challenged to read
through The Daily Bible – a unique Bible edited by F. LaGard
Smith. Brother Smith is a member of the Lord’s church who
arranged the entire Bible into chronological order. To motivate
our reading, our minister, Steve Tandy, selected one topic from
the previous week’s reading to discuss on Sunday night. Each
lesson was selected for application in the coming week. If you
are interested in reading through the whole Bible in a year,
this series will help keep you on track.

Standing in Grace
Only available on CD
|
Romans 5:1 says that Christians “stand in grace.” Stanley Shipp
once said, “Grace has often been a subject, without being a
lifestyle.” This series, Standing in Grace, shows how grace
transforms our lifestyle. If we truly stand in grace, we will
treat other people with grace. We will also treat our spouse
with grace and have a marriage of grace. Our congregations will
be pleasing to God if we act like a church of grace. Listen to
these lessons and learn how your life will be different if you
are standing in grace.

Amazing Grace-
Verse by Verse
Only available on CD
|
Probably the most famous Christian hymn ever written contains a
wealth of truths about the grace of God. Each of the song’s four
verses demand a thorough investigation to reveal the wonderful
truths in John Newton’s famous lyrics. This series, Amazing
Grace –Verse by Verse, looks at the life of the slave trader who
wrote the hymn and also the life of the persecutor of the church
who became the greatest messenger of grace. John Newton and the
Apostle Paul both understood grace, and after hearing these four
lessons, grace will be more amazing to you than ever.

Sin and
God
Only available on CD
Some sins don’t bother us much. Oh, of course, we think some
sins are really bad...but others we ignore, tolerate, or even
enjoy. Habbakuk 1:13 tells us that God has a very different
attitude about sin: “Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; You
cannot tolerate wrong.” This series, Sin and God, takes a hard
look at how God sees sin, and then how He deals with it. In
these four lessons you will learn how a perfectly just, holy,
and wrathful God is able to accept us in our sinfulness. His
great love for us will be revealed in a new and different light,
and you will appreciate even more His amazing grace.

A.W. Tozer said, “What I believe about God is the most important
thing about me.” What do you believe about God? Do you see Him
as a kindly old man who ignores all your sins, or as a vengeful
tyrant waiting to pour out the fire and brimstone if you make a
mistake? A balanced view of our loving God is essential to
understanding His grace and the gospel. This series, The Love of
God, looks at God’s defining characteristic from many
different perspectives. By the time you’ve seen the love of God
in these six lessons you will find a precious new security in
your Christian walk.

Moses & Me
Only available on CD |
His life story has the drama of an epic Hollywood movie: Born
into a slave family, raised as a prince of Egypt, and forced to
flee into the wilderness, he returns to free a nation and defeat
the most powerful man on earth.
This in-depth study of Moses is not, however, just about a
historical figure. It is an up-close look at a man “whom the
Lord knew face to face.” (Deuteronomy 34:10) If you want to be a
man or woman who knows God that intimately, you need to look at
the heart of Moses. Despite his shortcomings and failures,
through God’s power “no one has ever shown the mighty power or
performed the awesome deeds that Moses did.” (Deuteronomy 34:12)

Sharing
Your Faith
Only available on CD
Preachers talk a lot about Christians sharing their faith with
others, but many of us think, “That’s not for me.” Some
preachers try to create “soul-winners” by taking their audience
on a guilt trip, but that just makes us miserable. This series,
Sharing Your Faith, explains that letting other people
know about our Savior should really be a natural and easy
process. Listen to these four lessons and you will be much more
comfortable with your role as an ambassador of Christ.

Asking in
Faith
Only available on CDJesus clearly
promised that “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you
will receive it and it will be yours.” Yet, very few Christians
would claim that God gives them whatever they ask for. This
series, Asking in Faith, examines the practice of prayer in a
clear and exciting way. Clear biblical principles of prayer are
shown, and then illustrated by the amazing life of George
Muller. Muller was known as the “prince of prayer,” and “the man
who got things from God.” These six lessons will help you
understand prayer in a whole new way-and motivate you to truly
“ask in faith.” © 2009

Saving
Faith
Only available on CD
The Bible makes the
plan of salvation very clear and simple. 2000 years of false
teaching, however, has muddied the waters so much that many
people are confused. There is no doubt we are saved by faith –
but what “kind” of faith? Is baptism really necessary for
salvation? Should babies be baptized? This series, Saving Faith,
answers those questions and most others about the important
topic of salvation. Whether you are a Christian preparing to
share your faith with others, or someone simply looking for
answers, these lessons will help you know what the Bible clearly
teaches.

advocate vows of poverty. The truth is that Jesus came that we
might have life—and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) Since
money and finances are a BIG part of life, God must have a plan
for our financial abundance. This series, God’s Get Rich Quick
Plan, is simple, guaranteed, and universal. It will teach you
how to live abundantly—whether you have a lot of money or a

| Jesus came that we
might have life – and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) The
God of all joy does not want his children to live a joyless life
here on earth. He wants it to be abundant – full, overflowing,
and rich. In this series, Planting the Seeds, you will discover
four fundamental truths to live by. When these “seeds” are
planted deep in your mind and heart, they will change the way
you live… and then God can change the way He blesses you.

Clearing

Jesus came that we
might have life-and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) The
God of all joy does not want His children to live a joyless life
here on earth. He wants it to be abundant—full, overflowing, and
rich. And the Bible tells us how to do so. Just like a farmer
must clear the field of noxious weeds before he can have an
abundant harvest of wheat, we must get the major life-stealing
problems out of our hearts and our lives in order to live
abundantly. In this series, Clearing the Field, you will learn
the dangers of six particular problems—and hear specific,
practical ways to get them out of your life.

Paul’s epistle to the Romans has
been called “the most profound book in existence.” Scholars have
said that, “To know Romans is to have an entire theological
education,” and, “If you get Romans, God gets you.” In this
series, the text of Romans is studied verse by verse to uncover
both the deep doctrinal truths and practical applications of
Paul’s masterwork. Almost all of the doctrinal errors that
divide Christianity (original sin, predestination, once saved
always saved, faith and works, etc.) are covered in Romans and
special attention is paid to them. 60 pages of detailed notes
are available with this series to help you truly “get Romans.”

The Cause We Plead |
Jesus only built ONE church, and He
prayed that His followers would remain ONE. But now there
are thousands of “churches” all claiming to follow Christ.
How did we get into this mess—and how can we fix it? This
series, The Cause We Plead, starts with a
historic review of how the Church splintered into all of today’s
denominations, and then explains the Restoration Movement’s
attempts to restore the New Testament Church. The final
lessons present some very practical, biblical answers to how we
can pursue the goal of simply being New Testament Christians.

How to Become a Member of the Church |
If you call a dozen different
churches from the yellow pages and ask, “How can I become a
member of your church?” you will get a dozen different answers.
Every denomination has it’s own rules about how to join their
church. This series How to Become a Member of the Church, goes
straight to the New Testament for answers. Jesus only built ONE
church, and he gave direct instructions on how to become a part
of it. The New Testament is crystal clear—baptism puts us into
the church. This series looks at every case of conversion in the
New Testament, and also gives a straight forward definition of
biblical baptism.

The Purpose of the Church |
Is your church fulfilling its
purpose? What is the purpose of the church? The Bible says that
the church of Christ IS the body of Christ. That confers an
awesome responsibility on the Lord’s church today. We are
“called out” for a purpose—to do the work of Christ. Whatever
the head (Jesus) wants done is what the body should be doing.
This series presents six specific purposes which together draw a
strong Biblical picture of what Jesus would have us do.

|
| The
Organization of the Church |
When the New Testament speaks of the church, the
eklklesia, it does not refer to an organization, but simply
to the body of believers who share a commitment to Jesus. It
does, however, also use the same word "church" to refer to a
local congregation of believers. This series, The
Organization of the Church, explains what the New Testament says
about how those local churches should be operated or organized.
It contrasts the simple local autonomy of tall congregations wit
the complicated hierarchies of man[made organizations. It
describes the simple "servant-offices" of elders and deacons as
well as looking at God's desire for male spiritual leadership in
the church.

God's people have always "come together" for worship (Ps.

2:46). Christians are commanded to never stop meeting
together (Heb. 10:24). In this series, The Assemblies of the
Church , you will learn how, when, and why the New Testament
Christians assembled. You will also fid the biblical
answers to some common errors of the day, such as: the day of
worship, the purpose of the church assemblies, and acceptable
acts of worship. Special attention is given to explaining why
the Christians at Northside worship without instrumental accompaniment.

A Week in the Name of Jesus |
It is a very practical application
of Paul's command in Colossians 3:17-"Whatever you do,
whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord
Jesus." This series looks at how a Christian should
apply that verse in seven specific areas of life. The
principles are straight from the Bible and are universal.
A new Christian could use these lessons as a "beginner's
manual," yet an experienced saint will find plenty of
encouragement to growth.
