A big part of being a Christian is people. These ministries focus on
building relationships, helping new members fit in, and celebrating new
beginnings.
Fellowship Groups
Whatever stage of life you’re in, there’s a fellowship group for you
at Northside. Groups include Singles, Young Couples, Homebuilders,
Empty Nesters, and Goodtimers. Fun activities and service projects are
planned for these groups at least once a month.
- Singles - Single and “single again” adults of all ages
are members of this large fellowship group. They enjoy weekly Bible
studies and they get together often for games, service projects, and
other activities.
- Young Married - The Young Married group is for newlyweds who are beginning their life together.
They want to grow with other Christians who are facing similar
experiences in life.
- Homebuilders - This group is made up of families with children home. Activities are mostly centered
on the family.
- Empty Nesters - If your children have graduated from high school and your nest is empty (or almost)
you might enjoy being a part of the Empty Nesters.
- Goodtimers - The Goodtimers group is composed mostly of post-retirement age members. This group enjoys meeting for special dinners, fish fry’s, and trips to nearby towns.
New Members
When you become a member of the Northside Family you have the
opportunity to participate in a two-hour orientation class with other
new members. Twice a year we also invite new members to a free dinner
with Northside’s elders, deacons, and ministers.
Family Camp
Every year more than half of the members at Northside spend Memorial
Day weekend together at one of the best camp facilities in the country.
Family Camp offers Bible classes for all ages, games, fun activities,
campfire devotionals, and a wonderful talent show to wrap things up.
You don’t want to miss this!
Wednesday Meals
During the school year, home-cooked meals are offered every Wednesday
night from 5:45 to 6:45pm in the Multipurpose Room for a very
reasonable price. The meals provide great food at a low cost and the
opportunity to get to know other Northsiders.
Showers
At Northside we like to “rejoice with those who rejoice”. Baby
showers and wedding showers are fun and frequent events.
Sports
On Monday nights during the school year men and high school age boys
get together in the Northside gym to play basketball. And on Thursday
nights men and women (and boys and girls) use the gym to play
volleyball. Exercise, fun, and fellowship all in one – what a deal!
Music & Singing
We have three programs for learning music and sharing in the power of
a cappella music: Music Foundations for 4th-6th graders, congregational singing practice (Wednesdays before the devotional), and the Northside Singers (a performance group that sings at special
events such as weddings and funerals.
